Dragon Activity Log Pro
Your licence now keeps working after it lapses. Pro features stay on for every activated site; renewing restores updates and support on the same key.
- The licence screen shows Lapsed, and what that means, instead of a red Expired.
- New versions are fetched only while the licence is current. Nothing else changes.
Rollback now confirms the previous value was really written back before reporting "restored".
What's fixed in 1.0.9
- A rollback that did not land is reported as a failure. Restoring a setting or a user role used to report "Setting restored" / "Role restored" as soon as the write was attempted. Both now re-read the stored value and report a failure if it does not match the snapshot.
- Table setup is retried if it fails. The snapshot and metadata tables are only marked as installed once they actually exist in the database, so a failed creation (permissions, a half-completed update) is retried on the next load instead of being skipped for good.
- Unlimited-retention hand-over waits for the write. The one-time transfer of the old "unlimited retention" preference into the free plugin's setting no longer marks itself complete unless the value was stored.
- Failed table creation is throttled and reported. If the database refuses CREATE TABLE, the plugin waits 10 minutes between attempts instead of retrying on every page load, and administrators see a notice naming the missing table(s); it clears itself once the tables exist.
- Redacted secrets are never written back. Snapshots replace secret-shaped nested values (passwords, keys, tokens) with a placeholder. A setting whose previous value contains that placeholder is no longer offered for rollback, so the placeholder can never overwrite the real credential.
- Sites already missing the table are repaired on upgrade. An earlier version could record the schema as up to date even when the table had not been created, and because that recorded version did not change in this release those sites would have skipped the new check forever. The table is now confirmed to exist before the recorded version is trusted, so an affected site repairs itself the next time an administrator opens a WordPress admin page.
No settings, data or behaviour changes otherwise.
The "Unlimited retention" toggle has moved into the free plugin's own Retention setting (0 = keep forever); if you had it on, the value is carried over for you on update.
= 1.0.8 =
- Retention: the "Unlimited retention" toggle has been removed. Dragon Activity Log 1.0.8 accepts 0 in its own Retention setting to keep events forever; if the toggle was on, that value is written for you on update so nothing changes for your log.
Performance & hardening: alert/stream delivery no longer delays the page that triggered it, the sessions list is faster on large sites, and secrets are authenticated at rest.
= 1.0.7 =
- Performance: email/Slack/webhook alerts and event streaming are now sent after the response, so logins and saves are no longer slowed by their delivery.
- Performance: the active-sessions screen no longer scans all users one-by-one.
- Hardening: authenticated encryption for stored secrets; a stored licence is re-checked for a usable key before trusting the cached result.
Tested and verified on WordPress 7.1.
- Compatibility: tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Declares WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) compatibility, so WooCommerce no longer lists the plugin as untested with HPOS.
Your data now survives uninstall by default.
Uninstalling no longer deletes the plugin's data unless you explicitly opt in first, so removing it to debug — or coming back later — keeps everything intact. Where the plugin has a settings screen you'll find a new "Delete all data on uninstall" option; leave it off to keep your data.
A cleaner, consistent look: the Dragon design system arrives.
This release brings Dragon Core's design system to the Pro screens: a consistent header with the Dragon mark, cleaner tables, and unified status colours. Purely visual — everything behaves exactly as before.
