We replaced Sage and a handful of separate tools with one platform we built ourselves. It sends the invoices, takes the payments, keeps the books tidy and gives every client their own login.

Where it started
Too many tools that didn't talk to each other
Dragon Core is our own business. It ran on Sage, with the bank, receipts, renewals and client requests each handled somewhere else, and a lot of time spent copying things between them.
So we built one system around how the business actually works, moved every past invoice across from Sage, and switched it on for real clients in August 2026.

Payments are matched to their invoices and spending is sorted as it comes in. Receipts from the inbox attach themselves. Month end is a short list to check.
Easier payments
Clients pay by card straight from the invoice, and it is marked paid when the money clears. Regular invoices and renewals go out on their own.
Clients help themselves
Clients log in to download invoices, see the hours left on their plan, follow their project and raise a request, without having to email us.
The bank feed
A bank feed that does most of the sorting
Money coming in is matched to the invoice it pays, using exact references and amounts, never a guess. Money going out is sorted into categories, with AI suggesting one for anything new and flagging what it isn’t sure about. What’s left is a short list to check, not an afternoon of reconciling.

Trustworthy before it's clever
A system that sends invoices and takes payments has to get the basics right every time. These rules are built in, not left to good habits.
- Sent invoices are locked, and mistakes are fixed with a credit note
- Invoice numbers are issued in order and never reused
- Nothing financial is deleted, only archived
- Encrypted off-site backups, checked before every update
